Between 2012 and 2014, I had the life-changing opportunity to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the beautiful country of Italy. During my time there, I fell in love with authentic Italian pizza—and I don’t just mean eating it! I learned firsthand how to craft traditional Italian pizza from scratch, from perfecting the dough to creating rich sauces like marinara and pesto. I even picked up how to make mouthwatering dessert pizzas.
In Italy, a missionary is called “Elder,” or in Italian, Anziano—and that’s where Anziano’s Pizza gets its name.
Since returning home, I’ve spent years refining the recipes I learned abroad. Today at Anziano’s Pizza, we’re passionate about delivering an authentic Italian experience right here in Spanish Fork and Mapleton Utah. Whether you’re looking for pizza in Spanish Fork or pizza in Mapleton, we’ve got you covered with pizzas made from dough that we carefully ferment for over 2.5 days. That extended fermentation process gives our crust that perfect combination of crunch on the outside and softness on the inside—just like you’d find in a true Italian pizzeria.
So, next time you’re searching for the best pizza near me, remember: at Anziano’s Pizza, every pizza is made with love, patience, and tradition. Come taste the difference!
